U-Haulin’ it Out of Here - Part 1
A Goodbye at UW Oshkosh
Through my college years, the Lord used the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to give me a burden for lost students, and to grow my faith. The man who has led the campus ministry at my alma mater has had a significant impact on me. Soon, he and his wife will be leaving my campus and moving overseas to a closed country to continue building spiritual movements among college students! So, at the last weekly meeting of the school year, we had a special time of thanking my campus director for his 11 years of faithful labor at UWO. Since we’re still in Oshkosh, it was a privilege for me to be able to be there the night that we honored him!

It’s Great to See Friends!
This past week we had the opportunity to spend three days with some of the friends who went through New Staff Training with us in January. We all attended a conference together that focused on financial stewardship as new staff members of Campus Crusade. It was wonderful to be reminded of how we can glorify Jesus in the way we manage our finances--we received great counsel from senior staff members about handling money wisely for a long-term career on staff.
What is Summer Project?
Today, we had the chance to talk to two of our students from Nalchik who told us that they’ll be spending their summers going on a Summer Project. Summer Projects with Campus Crusade for Christ have had a huge influence on our lives--we actually met on a Summer Project in 2003!
So what is a Summer Project? A Summer Project is a summer missions opportunity for college students. We invite students to go to another city--in the US, or overseas--and spend their summer being trained in evangelism, sharing their faith, studying the Bible, experiencing authentic community among believers, and seeing lives and communities changed!
Check out the video and learn more about Summer Projects and see what students have to say!
From Nalchik, Alyana and Katya are planning to spend their summer doing exactly this! This will give them an opportunity to grow in their ability to share their faith, learn more about how the Scriptures apply to their lives, and spend time being encouraged by believing students from all over Russia!
100% Sent
We want to see college students come to know Jesus. But our ministry doesn’t end--can’t end--with students. We want to see college students come to know Jesus in order to reach the whole world for Jesus.
What does this mean? It means sending students that are raised up through campus ministry into full-time ministry! However, we know that there will never be enough full-time missionaries or Christian workers to reach all people in all spheres of influence all over the world.
This is why we have a burden to see 100% of the students involved in our movements sent. We don’t onlywant to see students go into the ministry. We want to see students won to Christ, built up in their faith, and then sent out as trained laborers into the working world! No one is more influential and more effective than a peer in reaching those around them.
We envision sending students out after graduation to reach their fellow teachers, businessmen, lawyers, engineers...Our vision is to see students sharing their faith in Jesus, and discipling others in the faith in their specific jobs and spheres of influence!
Pray with us:
- That students would be raised up and sent out into the mission field.
- That students’ lives would be transformed, and that they would be sent out as radical witnesses for Jesus into the working world!
