Our Time in Russia

The fields are white for harvest!  There are 2.6 billion people in the world who have still never heard about Jesus.  We call these people “unreached.” By unreached, we mean people who literally have no chance of hearing about Christ unless someone goes to tell them. We’re burdened for the fulfillment of the Great Commission among these people, and are asking God to show us specifically how we’ll be part of fulfilling this need in our future.

Nalchik is a city of about 300,000 in the Caucasus Mountains.  The Caucasus is a very unique part of Russia—it is home to about 9.4 million people who have never heard the truth about Jesus.  This area is made up of 30-40 different ethnic groups, or “people groups.” These people groups are 99% Muslim.  We lived and worked in Nalchik as interns with Campus Crusade from August 2006-November 2007 where we worked with Muslim university students of the North Caucasus.

We saw and are still seeing Jesus moving in great ways among Muslims in the Caucasus!  We saw students turn from hopelessness and place their faith in Him!  Believing students are growing in their relationships with the Messiah, and are telling others about Him.  We’re so thankful that Jesus allowed us to be a part of this movement at the start of our missionary calling.
